Light Rigid (LR)

A Light Rigid Vehicle is a:

  • Truck of Bus of greater than 4.5 tonne GVM and less than 8 tonne GVM but no more than 2 axles.
  • A Bus with more than 12 seats.
  • A Light Vehicle can also tow a trailer of up to 9 tonne GVM

Helpful Information:

Our view is that a Light Rigid Licence is very restrictive in which vehicles you are able to drive. It is therefore not useful to many people, as such we do not offer training in a Light Vehicle.

If you are, looking for a Light Rigid Licence we would recommend obtaining a Medium Rigid Licence as it will provide much greater flexibility in the vehicles you can drive.

Our Medium Rigid Truck is easy to drive and approximately the length as most Light Rigid vehicles that you regularly see on the road such as Coaster Buses.
