Light Rigid (LR)

A Light Rigid Vehicle is a:

Truck of Bus of greater than 4.5 tonne GVM and less than 8 tonne GVM but no more than 2 axles.

A Bus with more than 12 seats.

A Light Rigid Vehicle can also tow a trailer of up to 9 tonne GVM

Medium Rigid (MR)

A Medium Rigid Vehicle is a:

Truck of Bus of more than 8 tonne GVM but no more than 2 axles.

A Medium Rigid Vehicle can also tow a trailer of up to 9 tonne GVM.

Allows, you to drive and Light Rigid (LR) Vehicle.

 

Heavy Rigid (HR)

A Heavy Rigid Vehicle is a:

Truck or Bus of more than 8 tonne GVM with a minimum of 3 axles.

An Articulated (Bendy) Bus.

A Heavy Rigid Vehicle can also tow a trailer of up to 9 tonne GVM.

Allows, you to drive a Light Rigid or Medium Rigid Vehicle provided your licence gearbox restrictions are respected.

Heavy Combination (HC)

A Heavy Combination Vehicle is a:

Truck including prime mover of more than 8 tonne GVM with a minimum of 3 axles with a trailer with a minimum of 9 tonne GVM and a minimum of 2 axles.

Allows you to drive any lower class vehicle provided your licence gearbox restrictions are respected.
